Winter Weather Closing Policy

Emerald City occasionally finds it necessary to close due to inclement weather for the safety of our staff and students.

How will you know about closings?

We do not follow any local school district’s closing policy. If Emerald City closes for part of or all of the day, all classes will be notified via email.

If you have opted-in to text messages through JackRabbit, you will be also notified through text. Closings are posted on our website, Facebook, Instagram and our voicemail message will be updated to announce all closings.

Please log in to the parent portal and make sure your email address is up to date and opt in to receive text messages, if you wish.

Morning class (9:00-12:00):

Closings will be posted by 8:30 a.m.

Afternoon class (1:00-3:00):

Closings will be posted by Noon.

Evening class (4:00-9:00):

Closings will be posted by 3:00 p.m.
